Wilmington, NC Business Transactions & Contract Law Attorney

All Forms of Contracts and Business Transactions for North Carolina Businesses

Kerner Law Firm, PLLC has extensive experience and expertise drafting and negotiating contracts and other business transactions. First, we take the time to understand the type of transaction you are proposing. Depending on your goals - both short and long-term - we look for alternate ways to accomplish those goals, with fewer moves, for less cost, or using simpler methods. Then we make sure to carefully document your understanding of the agreement -- by putting the concepts into plain English so you can know what you are agreeing to, before we later translate it all into "legalese" - as we must do, to maximize the benefit to you.

Where necessary, we assist you in negotiating -- either directly, or at a distance (so the other party doesn't know you are talking with a lawyer) particular points you might not have thought were negotiable. We also check to make sure you aren't "selling yourself short" in the deal - either on the total price, or on particular items of exchange. We understand that our role is not to "kill the deal" but we don't believe there's harm in taking a "bend but don't break" approach to a transaction. When the other party is willing to negotiate, there is enough leeway to negotiate without worrying that the other side will walk away. Often when parties do walk away at the first point of negotiation, it shows they were not serious, or that they were about to rip you off and were only going to do the deal on that basis. Either way, we make sure that doesn't happen to you.
